Committed to Community
Vora Technology Park (VTP) believes in "community." The staff of VTP maintains a close rapport with city officials and employees and is involved with various departments within the City of Hamilton to help build a better community. VTP supports the Hamilton City Police Department by offering the campus for various training and skill enhancement opportunities. The City of Hamilton SWAT (Special Weapons & Tactics) Team utilizes VTP for training exercises and maneuvers. Training is the most important aspect of the team. They must be ready to provide heavy tactical support in emergency situations. In the fall of 2008, the team won top honors at the SWAT Round-Up International Competition, defeating sixty (60) national and international teams. In addition, the 2.2 acre pond on the Vora campus offers the police department an opportunity to enhance their water rescue skills.
Vora Technology Park has been the site of benefit walks. With the mile-long walking trail encircling the campus, the path provides the perfect venue for hosting a walk-a-thon. One can walk around the beautiful pond, through a habitat area of native prairie grasses and wildflowers, and under the spreading trees and foliage of the campus.
The Great Miami River Days is an action-packed festival with power boat races, professional water skiers, Civil War and Native American re-enactments, crafts, food, and education and appreciation for the Great Miami River and its wildlife. VTP is located next to the river and has been a proud sponsor of the festival each year. Vora Technology Park has also supported various community interests such as Ice Fest, sponsored by the Hamilton City of Sculpture, Art in the Park at Pyramid Hill, and the American Red Cross.
During a crippling weather event in the Hamilton area, a local company suffered a power outage at their facility. Management contacted VTP and within hours their staff reported to our campus. The VTP facilities personnel acted quickly and set up an emergency remote site for them. The company was able to seamlessly continue operating through the power outage.
